Belly dance
While
at Redwood in 2005, living in the middle of nowhere, I started taking
classes
from Shoshanna, a fabulous belly
dancer. I
definitely got hooked!
.
Nepal
One part about my education that was
incredibly
special to me was studying abroad. Having been a life-long vegetarian
and concerned
about expressing kindness towards all beings, I have always been
interested in
cultures that hold these values as well.
Bicycling
Another major passion of mine is biking. I
love road biking
and try to get out there as much as possible. Endurance rides are
great!
Sewing & Beading
Need something sewn or beaded? I would be
happy to help!
My sewing work includes hemming and alterations, costumes,
clothes, and home furnishings. I specialize in bellydance and Indian
wear and intricate stitching.
I also create beading and applique designs to beautify outfits,
jewelry, and home decor. I'm skilled in making original patterns and
replicating other work.

Century Rides
My goal for 2008 is to do all of the Century rides in the area! I have
been training hard and am ready for this challenge! If you hear of any
planned rides in southern Oregon and northern California, please let me
know! Look for me on all of the major ones! So far, I am doing:
Mountain Lakes Challenge, Mt. Shasta Summit, Crater Lake Century,
Siskiyou Century, and Ride the Rogue.
Devanagari
I know that Nepal will always be an important part of my life, and I am
striving to make my connections there even deeper. My Nepali is pretty
good, but I am definitely lacking in reading and writing abilities!
Therefore, I have undertaken the challenge for myself to learn
Devanagari, the alphabet of Nepali (and Hindi and other Sanskrit-based
languages). I have lots of readers to practice with from Nepal, plus
Nepali friends who are so kind in helping me with my studies! I'd like
to have basic reading and writing skills down by my next trip to Nepal
in winter 2008-2009. I'm determined to make this happen and will let
you know of my progress! :)
Mehndi
Combining my love of art with my love of the Indian sub-continent, I
have developed and refined my skill as a professional mehndi artist. I
make my own henna paste, using all natural ingredients. My designs are
inspired by cultures worldwide that have a history of mehndi in their
cultures. I'm very enthusiastic about my latest venture and would love
to work with you to create beautiful henna art for any occasion! Please
see www.mysticalmehndi.com
for more information.
